Gunflint Ranger District Road Damage Alert
Gunflint Ranger District roads, located near Grand Marais, MN, that are impacted and closed include Forest Road 313-Shoe Lake Rd, Forest Road 140-Trout Lake Rd, and Forest Road 325-S. Brule River Rd.

Browns Lake Road-Cloquet Line Alert
Forest Road 136-Browns Lake Road-Cloquet Line, located on the Kawishiwi Ranger District near Ely, MN has a large washout located 100 yards before the Low Lake landing. Vehicular access to the Low Lake landing and access along the road are currently inaccessible.

Devil's Track Tributary Bridge Closure
A trail bridge on the Superior Hiking Trail (SHT) located approximately .4 mile west of the Lindskog Trailhead (Co. Rd 58) has been closed.

Forest Order 09-09-24-06 Temporary Closure of Forest Road 170 (FR170)
The proposed closure order is needed to temporarily close a section of Forest Road 170 (FR170) “The Grade” surrounding ongoing construction at the crossing of the Cascade River to motorized traffic.

Forest Order 09-09-24-05: June Storm Restrictions
This Emergency Forest Order effective June 24, 12:01am prohibits entry into areas impacted by the June 18 storm across northern Minnesota. See Exhibit A for a full list of areas impacted, Exhibits B & C are related maps for visual use.

Forest Order 09-09-24-01: Conditions of Use Restrictions for the Superior
Limits camping at developed sites to 14 days, prohibits camping at Jeanette Lake Island, Birch Lake "TP Island", and Grassy Lake Island; also prohibits using roads for commercial hauling with a permit or written authorization and operating an over-snow vehicle on designated ski trails.

Forest Order 09-09-24-02: BWCAW Bear Aware Food Storage Order
Prohibitions related to food, food containers, etc. in the Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness Area from March 1 - November 30 of each year.

Free Wood Permits for Select Storm Damage Sites
The Superior National Forest is extending FREE wood permits from 2023 storm damage in select locations on the Laurentian and Kawishiwi Ranger Districts through September 30, 2025. Each permit is limited to four cords

Forest Order 09-09-03-01: Firewood Restrictions
Any firewood of any species originating from any state other than Minnesota is prohibited on national forest system lands within the boundaries of the Chippewa or Superior National Forests.

Forest Order 09-09-04-07: Johnson Gravel Pit Restrictions
It is prohibited to discharge any firearm, air rifle, or gas gun at the Johnson Gravel Pit, located in the south ½ of the southeast ¼, Section 12, T61N, R1E, Cook County, Minnesota. 36 CFR 261.58(m). See attached map, Exhibit 1.
