Partnerships
Partnerships play an integral role in the shared stewardship of the national forest. Our partners include other government agencies, nonprofit and for-profit entities, and local communities. Working together with these partners helps us accomplish more work in more areas than we would otherwise be able to do alone.
We are always looking to expand our growing list of partners. Partnerships need to involve projects that are mutually beneficial to both the national forest and the partnering entity. Many partnerships have formal arrangements that involve legal documents or administrative tasks. Is your organization interested in exploring partnership opportunities with the national forest? If so visit our Partnerships 101 page to learn more about the Forest Service, legal requirements for partnerships, and details about funding and other information.

Heart of the Continent

The Heart of the Continent Partnership is a Canadian/American coalition of land managers and local stakeholders working together on cross-border projects that promote the economic, cultural & natural health of the lakes, forests and communities on the Ontario/Minnesota border. From out of a broad collection of separate entities, the partnership is developing a common identity and sense of belonging.
