Anchorage, AK – The Chugach National Forest is extending its commercially guided helicopter skiing permits.

The forest will be issuing Temporary Use Permits to current permitted companies since the 2020 season was cut short because of COVID-19. These special use permits are being reissued for operations from Jan. 1 through April 30, 2021.

“We are happy to welcome back Points North Heli Ski Adventures, Valdez Heli Ski Guides, and Silverton Mountain Guides,” said Cordova District Ranger Steven Namitz. “We also expect to have the 2022 priority use Heli-Ski prospectus out soon for competitive interest for that season.”

For more information about the upcoming prospectus please contact Namitz at 907-424-4747 or email steven.namitz@usda.gov, or Acting Special Uses Program Manager Jennifer Mac Donald 907-738-2786 or email jennifer.l.macdonald@usda.gov.
