Cedar Creek Fire Burned Area Emergency Response Highlights

The Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) program is designed to identify and manage potential risks to resources on National Forest System lands and reduce these threats through appropriate emergency measures to protect human life and safety, property, and critical natural or cultural resources.  BAER teams are composed of resource specialists who determine the need for, prescribe, and sometimes implement, emergency treatments. A deeper understanding of the short- and long-term effects of the Cedar Creek Fire will be clearer as we slowly gain access in the coming year. The following resources highlights what we know now.
