Minnesota Shared Service Contracting Unit

The MN Shared Service Contracting Unit handles all contracts and grants and agreements for the Chippewa and Superior National Forest in Minnesota.

Contracting with the MN Shared Service Contracting Unit:

  • All individuals and businesses that do business with the Forest Service are required to register in CCR (Central Contractor Registration).
  • First requirement for this process is to obtain a DUS number by going to fedgov.dnb.com/webform
  • Once you have obtained a DUNS number, you are able to register your business in CCR at: www.bpn.gov/ccr/default.aspx

To Complete Registration you will need:

  1. DUNS Number
  2. Tax Identification Number (TIN) and Taxpayer Name
  3. Statistical Information About Your Business
  4. Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Information

Advertisement Requirement for Solicitations:

  • The Forest Service is no longer required to maintain bidder’s mailing lists for Simplified Acquisitions, which are those transactions below the $100,000 threshold.
  • To obtain information on solicitations available, contact the Chippewa National Forest at 218.335.8600 and tell them you are interested in contracting with the Government.    Be very specific as to what type of work it is that you do.   The procurement office and or District office may keep your name and address and notify you when solicitations arise. 
  • For contract that exceed the simplified acquisition threshold (> than $25,000) the Forest Service is required to advertise and post all opportunities here

The Forest Service has various procurement goals established for small business, small disadvantage business, 8(a), and service disable veteran-owned business.
