Maps Available for Free

The Dixie National Forest has several maps available for free. These maps can be acquired by download and most are GPS enabled on a smart device.

The most comprehensive source for maps is the U.S. Geological Survey Topographic Quad Maps – 1:24,000

The Dixie National Forest recommends the use of 7.5 minute quadrangle maps produced by the US Geological Survey (USGS), particularly for off-trail travel or visits deep into the wilderness. These maps can be used on a smartphone or tablet, however they are sometimes out of date, so they may not show constructed features such as roads and facilities, but they show topographic features in great detail and are still considered a vital orienteering tool. To download for free or purchase a printed USGS topographic map, contact follow the links below to the USGS Online Store.
