Community Outreach

With help from our partners, the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest hosts a variety of community programs and events that help bridge the gap between understanding, appreciation and stewardship for the public lands and the people who care about them.

Throughout the year many community outreach events and programs are offered in communities surrounding the Forest. Below are a list of some of the annual programs and events hosted by the Forest and its partners and volunteers.

Conservation Education

Conservation education helps people appreciate, understand and conserve our country's natural resources and special places. Through conservation education, people of all ages develop the critical thinking skills they need to understand the complexities of ecological issues, make informed decisions, and become proactive and responsible stewards of our public lands and resources. Conservation education connects people to the land through hands-on, interactive and relevant experiences while providing tools and resources that allow for additional educational opportunities.

The Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest provides many conservation education programs, materials and resources to promote place-based educational opportunities for youth, their families and their communities! Below are only a few of our conservation education programs on the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest.
