Closures on the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest:
Helena Ranger District:
- South Hills camping closure (01-15-12-24-41): All National Forest System lands adjacent to the City of Helena's natural parks around the South Hills trail system on the Helena Ranger District (Grizzly Gulch, Orofino Gulch, Davis Gulch, Park City, Tucker Gulch, Wakina Sky, Rodney Ridge, and Unionville). - Slate Creek Road Closure (01-15-12-25-04): This closure is for public safety due to road grinding and reconditioning and during the repair/reconstruction of the Slate Creek Road #1871. View the closure order and map.
- Spotted Dog Road Closure (01-15-12-25-05): This closure is for public safety due to road grinding and reconditioning and during the repair/reconstruction of the Spotted Dog Road #314 through May 31, 2025. View the closure order and map. View the closure order and map.
- Spotted Dog Road Closure 2 (01-15-12-25-06): This closure is for public safety due to road grinding and reconditioning and during the repair/reconstruction of the Spotted Dog Road #314. The road will be closed May 19-June 30, 2025. View the closure order and map.
Townsend Ranger District:
- Deep Creek Picnic Area closure (01 -15-11-23-01): Due to flooding, the Deep Creek Picnic Area will be closed from the gate south to the Deep Creek Picnic area and encompasses Forest Service Road 1015 and 1015-A. This order is in effect through May 18, 2025, unless rescinded earlier. View the closure order and map.
- Crow Creek Road Closure (01-15-11-25-08): Crow Creek Road will be closed between June 2-September 30, 2025 for road repairs. View the closure order and map
Belt Creek-White Sulphur Springs Ranger District:
- Lick Creek Cave closure (01-15-07-23-13): The Cave northwest of Monarch is closed due to the detection of white-nose syndrome spores. The cave will be closed until further notice. View the closure. View the map.
- Logging Creek Campground closure (01-15-07-25-07): The campground will be closed for the 2025 season due to critical updates. View the closure order and map.
Lincoln Ranger District:
- There are no closures in effect.
Judith-Musselshell Ranger District:
- There are no closures in effect.
Rocky Mountain Ranger District:
- Forest Service Road 8998 closure (01-15-01-23-13): Forest Service Road #8998 is closed to motor vehicles in its entirety, beginning from the junction of Forest Service Road #144 and Forest Service Road #8998 and through its junction with Trail #195. View the closure order and map.

Please be aware that food storage orders are in effect on the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest. This helps ensure bears do not get habituated to human food and helps to keep people and bears safe.
