Passes & Permits
Recreation Passes & Permits
Recreation passes are NOT required at our sites with the exception of the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center that will accept them in lieu of the day-use fee. The government has established passes, that when obtained, allow the pass holder to enter fee areas without additional charge.
Forest Product Permits
Many forest products on the forest DO require a permit to harvest. Forest product permits are forest resources not associated with timber sale contracts but are for personal, commercial or scientific use. Examples of forest product permits include mushroom, minerals, firewood, christmas tree or post and pole. If you are unsure whether or not you need a permit, please contact us.

Special Use Permits
Special use permits are required when asking for special privileges on the National Forest land. Examples may include group activities, recreational events and use of motorized recreational vehicles in designated areas. If you are unsure whether or not you need a permit, please contact us.
