National Forest System lands like the Idaho Panhandle National Forests are open to anyone! It's your forest! But how much do you really know about the flora and fauna, and other natural features of the area? Are you aware of the mark that American Indians, fur trappers and traders, Catholic missionaries, miners, homesteaders, and loggers have left on our densely forested valleys and mountains? The Forest Service has lots of information to share on all the different biological, ecological, and historical aspects of the Idaho Panhandle that make this area unique. We hope that the resources we provide here will help you appreciate and understand your forest a little bit better.
