Annual Passes 2017 The Interagency Passes are honored nationwide at all Forest Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service sites charging entrance or standard amenity fees.

Forest Product Permits

Forest productsCollecting products on the Mendocino National Forest for commercial and private use requires a forest product permit. Commonly requested permits are for mushrooms, posts, poles and rails, and pinecones.

Special Use Permits

Special Use PermitsCertain activities on public lands require "special use authorization." These include commercial activities, such as filming, guiding, and events.

Campfire Permits

CampfireCampfire permits are required for campfires, charcoal fires, and portable gas stoves outside designated recreation sites. Permits are free and available at all Forest Service, BLM, and CAL FIRE offices, as well as online at www.PreventWildfireCA.org.

Firewood Permits

fuelwood permit To cut firewood for personal use on the forest, you must have a personal use firewood permit. You can get a permit through the mail from April - December ONLY (download form). For current firewood cutting information, please call 530-934-3316.

Christmas Tree Permits

Christmas permitChristmas tree cutting in the Mendocino National Forest is managed as a recreational experience. It is a chance to take the family out into the woods and cut a tree the old-fashioned way.

 

 

Fee-Free Days

The Forest Service waives recreation fees at most day-use sites on lands managed by the agency. Participation by concession-operated sites may vary. The 2021 dates are:
