Fuelwood Permits
Fuelwood permits are availalbe on the Stanislaus National Forest beginning April 15. The cost of the permit is $25.00 for two and a half cords, ($10 per cord) with a maximum purchase of 10 cords per household per season. The permit allows cutting and gathering of "DEAD and DOWN" wood. You may not cut standing trees (green or dead) at any time.

A Fuelwood Permit must be acquired at any Stanislaus National Forest office between April 15 and December 15 of each year.

Permits will terminate on December 15 regardless of whether forest products are removed.

The Personal Use Fuelwood Permit must be in the permittee's possession while harvesting and transporting fuel wood.

The permit is non-transferable.

Forest Product Permits
The Stanislaus National Forest allows gathering of certain forest products. Chargeable permits are available for the following forest products:
- Mushrooms
- Cones
- Ferns
- Limbs/boughs
- Foliage
Individuals may collect forest products for personal use, without a permit, as long as the amount is an incidental amount. An incidental amount is defined as no more than what would fit in both hands.
