The Stanislaus National Forest is applying for California Off-Highway Vehicle grant funds for Ground Operations and Law Enforcement on OHV routes on the Stanislaus National Forest and we want your input!
We will have booths set up with representatives from each district. Stop by any time between 4PM and 6PM to share your questions, comments, and suggestions for our upcoming grant request.

Meet at 6 pm at the Gooseberry Winter Trailhead (Drive through the Dodge Ridge Parking lot - and back down towards Dodge Ridge Road it will be on your right)
Join a Ranger for a leisurely moonlit stroll to learn about the forest, its reliance on dark skies, and to enjoy the sounds of nature at night. Bring your own snowshoes. Snowshoes can be rented along Highway 108 or in Sonora. Wear warm clothes, a hat, and bring water and snacks.

Join a US Forest Service Ranger for a free, guided tour on the mountain at Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort. You will ski or snowboard with a Ranger around Dodge Ridge starting at Chair 3 and making your way back to Chair 8. These are naturalist tours that aim to educate guests on the local historical, cultural, and natural history of Stanislaus National Forest. Available to intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders. This is not a lesson. Look for the US Forest Service Sign by the firepit in the courtyard. This tour is limited to 6 people. You must have a lift ticket to participate in this tour.

Cost: Free for the tour with a valid day lift ticket or season pass
Crabtree Winter Trailhead (just outside of the Dodge Ridge Ski Area Parking Lot – on your right) Appreciate the beauty of the Stanislaus National Forest from a different perspective. Forest Rangers will share information about the natural history and cultural history of the area as you snowshoe along the path. Bring a pair of snowshoes and poles for balance. Snowshoes can be rented along Highway 108. Wear warm snow jacket, snow pants, hat. All Ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
This is athletic sport at high elevation so you will get a nice workout. Bring water and a snack. Beginner? No problem. We will help you get started! If you want to bring your well behaved dog, they are welcome, please keep them on a 6' leash and bring them water. Blizzard cancels. Questions? Eugenie.Moore@usda.gov
