FOREST ORDER
National Forest System Area –Falls Creek Campground North Lot Closure
Pursuant to 16 USC 551 and Title 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b), the following orders and restrictions regarding Falls Creek Campground on the Rocky Mountain Ranger District, Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest are hereby enacted:
PROHIBITION:
1. Public health and safety. [36 CFR 261.53 (e)]
PURPOSE:
This order prohibits entry onto National Forest System Lands and includes all methods of travel (foot, mechanized, motorized and stock) on the Falls Creek Campground north and south lots and are hereby incorporated into this order and depicted on the attached map (Attachment A). This closure is for public safety due to construction work renovations to improve and expand on recreational opportunities of the existing Falls Creek Campground and trailheads, including installation of vault toilets, horse corrals and hand pumps.
AREA CLOSURE DESCRIPTION:
This area closure occurs at the North Lot of Falls Creek Campground which is approximately 5 miles north of Hwy 200 and its intersection with Forest Service Road (FSR) 435 along the Dearborn River Road, West of Bean Lake and in the North lot of Falls Creek Campground, generally located at T18N, R7W, section ?? and highlighted in black in Attachment A Map). The north lot of Falls Creek Campground is closed in its entirety during the construction and renovations.
IMPLEMENTATION:
This order will be in effect in the north lot of Falls Creek Campground from July 7, 2025 and shall remain in effect until July 21, 2025, or until the order is rescinded, whichever occurs first.
These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.
EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
1) Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
2) Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty; and
3) Any other person meeting exemption requirements specified in the order.
VIOLATION:
Violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both. (16 U.S.C. 551 and 18 U.S.C. 3559 and 3571).

Any person wishing to use a National Forest System road or trail or a portion of the National Forest System, should contact the Forest Supervisor, Director, Administrator, or District Ranger to ascertain the special restrictions which may be applicable thereto.
