Temporary closures needed to complete road and campsite improvements

Release Date: May 13th, 2025

HELENA, Mont. – May 13, 2025—Work is underway to improve the Logging Creek Campground on the Belt Creek-White Sulphur Springs Ranger District and Spotted Dog Road on the Helena Ranger District. With the presence and activity of heavy machinery, projects will require temporary closures to ensure safety for the public and workers.

Logging Creek Campground will be closed throughout the summer of 2025 as work is completed to expand parking pads for larger recreational vehicles. The Spotted Dog Road work will be done in two sessions. The first session closes approximately five miles of road through May 31. The second session will close the road from May 19-June 30 while the next 10 miles of road is reconditioned.
