Lake and Pond Fishing
The Bighorn National Forest offers excellent lake and pond fishing; whether it is near a campground, along a road or a hike into the wilderness. If you're looking for the right fishing spot and wondering what fish might be there, visit the Wyoming Game and Fish Department's interactive Fishing Guide.
Ice Fishing
Ice fishing is a great way to enjoy the winter months in Wyoming. Bring your fishing pole to one of the many lakes the Forest has to offer.
River and Stream Fishing
Most rivers and streams provide for good trout fishing. Many trails follow rivers and streams; you may find your favorite fishing hole if you follow the right one. Visit the Wyoming Game and Fish Department's interactive Fishing Guide to find out what species are in the river or stream you would like fish.
Hunting
The Bighorn National Forest is popular for big game such as elk, mule deer, white-tailed deer, black bear, moose, bighorn sheep, mountain lion, and pronghorn. For more information about hunting licenses, hunting regulations, and season dates visit Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
