Freeman Reservoir Picnic Site

Freeman Reservoir Picnic Site is not managed or operated by the Forest Service, all operations fall under Moffat County.

It is located 21 miles north of Craig, CO on U.S. Highway and provides 4 tables with fire rings and is located on the shore of Freeman Reservoir. The reservoir offers fishing and hiking opportunities, but doesn't allow motor-propelled craft. There is accessible fishing bump-outs and a hardened trail that follows along the south shore of the reservoir.

No camping is allowed at the reservoir or picnic site, however the Freeman Reservoir Campground is nearby with 18 non-reservable sites and has fire grates, picnic tables and vault toilets. The area is popular among hunters during the early rifle seasons, but it also provides an abundance of primitive camping opportunities and hiking trails.
