Off-Highway Vehicles (OHV)
Motor vehicle travel is allowed only on designated trails and roads on the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests. Off-road and off-trail travel is prohibited. Motor Vehicle Use Maps provide useful guidance to make sure that your recreation is in compliance with Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests and Thunder Basin National Grassland regulations. All OHV vehicles and over-snow vehicles must have a current state registration. All classes of E-bikes are considered motorized vehicles.

OHV Road Riding
Motorized vehicle travel is allowed only on designated roads on the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests. Motor Vehicle Use Maps provide useful guidance to make sure that your recreation follows Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests and Thunder Basin National Grassland regulations. These maps also detail seasonal road closures in place to provide for wildlife passage and limit damage to resources.
All classes of E-bikes are considered motorized vehicles.
OHV Trail Riding
Motorized vehicle travel is allowed only on designated trails on the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests. OHVs are restricted to 50” total external width and must stay on designated trails. Motor Vehicle Use Maps provide useful guidance to make sure that your recreation follows Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests and Thunder Basin National Grassland regulations. Please know regulations and practice Leave No Trace principles.
