Vedauwoo Picnic Sites

This is a great place to stop just minutes off of I-80 with picnic tables, vault toilets and trash services available. Vedauwoo rock climbing is within a few steps of the picnic ground. There are 2 different picnic areas located in the area. Box Canyon is located at the base of Turtle Rock and is in the middle of the recreation area next to the Vedauwoo Gazebo. There is a medium sized paved parking lot with a paved path to the picnic areas. The picnic areas are spread out along this paved path in the middle of rock formations and offers access to both the East and West Turtle Rock trailheads. The second picnic area is Beaver Ponds and is located on the eastern edge of the Vedauwoo recreation area, past the tent only campground and near the East Turtle Rock Trailhead. There are many day use sites spread out along the road.  Open season is mid-May to mid-November.
