Mount Herman Trail #716 begins at a small parking area on a switchback on Mount Herman Road (Forest Service Road 320). This trail provides a 1-mile, moderate hike to the summit of Mount Herman.

Directions
From Monument, travel west on Second Street. Just past the railroad tracks, Second Street dead ends at a T. Turn left (south) on Mitchell Road. Travel approximately half a mile to Mount Herman Road. Turn right (west) on Mount Herman Road and travel for approximately 5 miles beyond the paved portion of road. The trailhead is a wide turnout on the right side of Mount Herman Road.
