North Taylor Trail #1348 is a 2.4-mile, moderate trail located in the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness that is open to nonmotorized/nonmechanized use only.

General Information

The Sangre de Cristo Wilderness was established in 1993 to preserve its quality, character and integrity. This area is intended to be a place where the imprint of humans is substantially unnoticed; where natural processes are the primary influences, and human activity is limited to primitive recreation and minimum tools. Please follow Leave No Trace Outdoor Ethics to ensure that this and future generations experience this special place in its natural condition.

Getting There

Directions

From Westcliffe; follow State Highway 69 north to County Road 170. Follow this dirt road about 5 miles. Just before the entrance to the Gibson Creek Trailhead, take a left turn onto Forest Development Road 173. This road becomes steep just before the Rainbow Trail crosses it and will generally require four-wheel drive.
