Parking

Parking is limited to approximately eight vehicles.

Directions

From Poncha Springs, travel south on Highway 285 for 5 miles. Just past the turnoff of O'Haver Lake (County Road 200), watch for a parking pull-off on the right side of the highway. The trail travels west from that point.

Biking - Mountain Info

The section of the Rainbow Trail that travels west from Mears Junction is not one that is commonly ridden by mountain bikers. A more common connector route is to ride down Silver Creek and intersect with the Rainbow Trail and continue back east to the Mears Junction trailhead.

Day Hikes Info

The Rainbow Trail (#1336) travels west from Highway 50 at Mears Junction for 6 miles and terminates at the intersection with Forest Road 210. The Silver Creek Trail continues west from this intersection and climbs towards the Continental Divide for about 6 miles.
