Buttermilk Mountain Improvements
White River National Forest Supervisor, Scott Fitzwilliams, signed a Decision Notice and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) on March 5, 2010 approving the Buttermilk Mountain Improvement Plan. The selected alternative is a combination of the Proposed Action (Alternative 2) as described in the EA plus the additional Nordic jump venue components from Alternative 3. In summary, construction of a snowmaking reservoir, lift maintenance facility, Nordic jump venue, additional snowmaking on 87 acres of terrain, and a summer horseback riding program have all been approved.
