actions for White River National Forest that will soon begin or are currently undergoing environmental
analysis and documentation. It provides information so that you can become
aware of and indicate your interest in specific proposals. We encourage your
early and ongoing involvement in any proposals of interest to you.
Interagency Wild and Scenic Suitability Study on the Colorado River and Deep Creek. USFS Draft ROD will be posted after the legal notice is posted in the Glenwood Post Independent. The entire EIS can be found: www.blm.gov/co/st/en/fo/crvfo.html
NSS has applied for a SUP for this event under an exemption clause & consistent with decontamination procedures described in Regional Order # R2-10-01. Planned activities would occur from July 16-July 24, 2011 & include: Cave & Geology Field Trips.
2014 Pro-Cycyle challenge is a professional bike race with 128 entrants. The course varies each year utilizing US Highways, State and County roads as it crosses 4 National Forests this year between August 18 and 26.
Special use authorization is for Bicycle Tour of Colorado (BTC) to make temporary use of NFS lands on 3 National Forests within Colorado for ancillary aid stations with portable toilets, signs, trash facilities and support personnel
Classic Bicycle Racing LLC makes temporary use of NFS lands during 4 of the total 7 stages on four National Forests within Colorado for ancillary facilities such as staging areas with portable toilets, signs, barricades, message boards, and filming.
The proposal is to improve trail conditions on the Dillon Ranger District through reconstruction of the Hippo Trail and creation of a new connector trail in the Salt Lick Trail System
Install Goldenhorn Platter lift, remove trees and perform grading on Oly Face, and glade trees on slopes of Eden within the Aspen Highlands Special Use Permit Area. These projects are all referenced in the 2013 Aspen Highlands Master Development Plan
Across 40 acres, clear game trails of downed debris and prune mountain shrub vegetation to allow for re-sprouting and improved visibility for bighorn sheep.
AT&T has applied for the renewal of their Copper Mountain Communications Site Lease. Currently AT&T operates a communication site on National Forest Lands within Copper Mountain Ski Resort's Special Use Permit Area. No new disturbance are proposed.
Demolition and removal of abandoned equipment, materials and structures at five abandoned mining cabins (Wise Mtn, Bemrose Creek, Mt. Guyot, Keystone Gulch and Peru Creek).
Analysis to provide access to a private inholding between Peaks 6 and Peaks 7. Project would entail construction of 1,500 feet of new road from the top of the Zendo lift (BSR) to the private inholding.
Issuance of a ten year outfitter and guide permit to Adventure Cycling Association to authorize multiple cycling tours to operate annually on National Forest System Lands across the Rocky Mountain Region.
Ajax Adventure Camp has requested a ten year priority use permit to host a summer camp for children ages 7-15. Activities include rock climbing, fishing, water dipping, bouldering, camping, biking, and outdoor education programming.
New authorization for construction of cellular phone comm site along US Highway 6 between Loveland Pass and Keystone (A-Basin). The facility will be multi-carrier facility consisting of one prefabricated equipment shelter and two towers.

Apex Lode, Strong Mines has submitted a Plan of Operations to maintain a mine and infrastructure on their claims. Infrastructure consists of a cabin/tool shed, 1,600 feet of road with a gate as well as the mine. The Plan of Operations is for 1 year.
The Strong Mining Co. will implement final reclamation of the Apex (Strong) Mine. Plan includes safety closures of two adits, demolition and removal of all improvements, decommissioning access roads and trails, and site revegetation.
Proposal to 1) construct a sand shed in the High Noon parking lot for sand and equipment storage and 2) to expand the Il Refugio restaurant at A-Basin by enclosing the current deck and building a new deck of similar size.
Proposal from Arapahoe Basin Ski Area to replace the existing Lenawee Chairlift, expand existing food service facilities at Black Mountain Lodge and construct a warming hut near the Lenawee Parks ski trail.
Project includes approximately 9 miles of summer hike/bike trails and two via ferratas. All of the proposed projects are located within Arapahoe Basin's existing special use permit and operational boundary.
A Basin is proposing a new via ferrata route. The resort currently has a challenging via ferrata route on the upper East Wall rock face. The second route will be a shorter and less exposed route on a lower zone of the East Wall.
The purpose of this project is to improve the condition of the Arctic Placer Trail through realignment and construction. The existing trail is very steep, travels straight up the hillside, and is causing soil erosion during spring run.
To offer for competitive sale to the public, or direct sale or exchange to a governmental org., a portion of the Aspen RD Admin Site comprising approximately 1 acre. This sale/exchange is being proposed under the authority of the FSFREA of 2005.
Aspen Skiing Company proposes to install approximately 3,600 feet of snowmaking pipe on Prospector ski trail and 3,000 feet of snowmaking pipe on Riverside ski trail. Collectively, the proposed snowmaking project would provide approx. 16.9 acres.
The following are proposed on USFS lands: approximately 60 acres cleared trail and gladed terrain; chairlift and ancillary infrastructure; bottom terminal access road; and 50 acres snowmaking, pump station, 18,000 feet line, and two storage ponds.
This project is to improve the reliability and safety of Aspen Mountain's Lift 1A in order to meet guest standards and enhance the recreation experience by replacing and realigning the outdated fixed-grip, double chairlift installed in 1972.
Proposal to remove hazard trees and regenerate lodgepole and aspen in selected areas across the four SkiCo ski areas (Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, Snowmass).
Installation of 11 Cellular Towers at 10 sites on National Forest lands at Aspen Skiing Company Resorts; Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, Snowmass. Including associated utilities (power, fiber optics) for each site.
Aspen Skiing Company proposes to construct the Blue Grouse Ski Trail Connector and Vapor to Squeezy Bike Trail Connector, reroute the Summit Hiking Trail, and replace and realign the Cirque and Coneygame lifts.
The project is to authorize use and maintenance of roughly 60 feet of an existing 2 track, 10-foot-wide route to the subject parcel located along the Lead King Basin Road (NFSR 315).
Conduct prescribed fire and mechanical treatments in identified blocks of forest, shrubland, and grassland vegetation types to improve wildlife browse and foraging habitat.
Creation of a permitted public rock collection program that would include small volume, non-commercial, hand collection, and surface removal of decorative rocks from designated community "common use area(s)".
Issuance of five year recreation event permits to authorize 11 recreation events to operate on the Aspen-Sopris Ranger District. Events have been authorized in prior years under temporary permits. Events are running, mountain bike, jeep, and ski.
The City of Glenwood Springs would like to create an easement for an existing transformer located at 900 Grand Avenue, the White River National Forest Supervisor's Office.
Avalanche CG has reached a new level for action for public safety needs due to hazard trees falling on the campsites. To ensure visitor safety and promote a healthy forest the proposal is to close & relocate the 10 sites located in the hazard zone.
Proposing vegetation treatments to salvage fire killed timber, remove hazard trees and create defensible space near structures in the Cattle Creek area. Additionally, approximately 6,500 acres will be monitored for reforestation needs.
The action proposed by the Forest Service to meet the purpose and need consists of four elements: Construct a parking area, reconstruct approximately 8.2 miles of trail, restore a wetland, and rehabilitate- and close approximately 27 miles of trail.
Proposal to mitigate water loss through sinkholes identified within Battlement Reservoir #1 and maintain Colorado River cutthroat trout habitat. Would be implemented in a partnership with CPW in the fall when water levels are low.
Replacement of the Drink of Water Lift (Chair #5) at Beaver Creek Resort. The current double chairlift is proposed to be replaced with a high speed quad.
Beaver Creek Ski Resort is proposing to add a women's downhill racecourse next to the existing men's course with related snowmaking & safety infrastructure. Finish area reconstruction will include upgrades to Red Tail Camp & race building facilities
The McCoy Park proposal consists of various lift, terrain, snowmaking and operational developments. These improvements will provide for lift served skiing servicing beginner and low-intermediate terrain separated from advanced-level terrain.
Beaver Creek Resort is proposing to install snowmaking near PHQ and the Sheephorn trail, tree clearing for the Slanderous Sams and Sheephorn Connector trails, and constructing a temporary construction access/ski patrol egress in the McCoy Park area.
proposal to accomplish three projects at Beaver Creek Resort during the 2016 summer construction season: Women's Downhill Start Mound Removal, Finish Area Commentator Booth and Red Tail Grading Projects.
The Proposed Action would authorize Berlaimont to improve those existing segments of NFSR 774 and 780 as they lead up to the southeastern corner of the Berlaimont property from local public roads in Edwards.
The proposed action is to update culvert infrastructure that is nearing the end of its lifespan and to provide improved aquatic organism passages at four locations on the Eagle-Holy Cross Ranger District.
Snowmass proposes to replace the outdated Big Burn high-speed detachable quad chairlift with a new high-speed detachable six-person chairlift. The design capacity of the new chairlift would equal that of the existing chairlift (2,200 people per hour)
Issuance of five year recreation event permits to authorize 2 recreation events to operate on the Blanco Ranger District. Events have been authorized in prior years under temporary permits. Events are ATV and snowmobile rides.
Renewal of 18 existing outfitter/guide special use permits. Permits allow for hunting, packing, fishing, camping, horseback riding, hiking, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Permit term will be for 10 years.
Analyze the following grazing allotments for permit reissuance: Hay Flats, Middle Miller, North Elk, Seven Lakes, Salt Box, West Miller, and East Miller
Proposed fuels reduction activities on National Forest System (NFS) lands within a 3,605-acre area near Vail, Colorado. Treatments correspond to areas identified within the Town of Vail Community Wildfire Protection Plan.
Reissuance of expired SU Permit for a spring development and pipeline approx. 1300 feet long. Also for a ditch for supplying water to fish ponds on private lands that is approx. 200 feet long. The permit will continuee to have a 10 foot wide use area
The project involves the replacement of the Chair 5 lift within the resort's Peak 8 base area. The project would occur partially on National Forest System (NFS) lands within the Breckenridge Ski Resort's existing Special Use Permit Area.
Breckenridge Ski Resort (BSR) is proposing projects on Peak 9 including the installation of a new gondola teaching terrain, and the replacement of C-Chair to relieve portal crowding and improve the experience for guests learning to ski and ride.
Breckenridge Ski Resort proposes to replace the Falcon Chairlift on Peak 10, construct a storage building on Peak 7 and improve its communication infrastructure.
Proposed projects: installation of an electrical line from the T-Bar hut to the top of the Imperial lift; replacement/modification of the existing lift operations building and ski patrol hut located at the top of the Imperial lift.
Project includes developing new ski terrain and constructing a new lift and associated infrastructure on Peak 6 within the resort's Special Use Permit boundary.
The purpose of this project is to improve the condition of the Broken Wheel Trail through realignment and construction. The existing trail is very steep,
travels straight up the hillside, and is causing soil erosion during spring run.
Proposal to decommission and restore .5 miles of unsustainable trail that provides a poor recreation experience. Existing trail will be replaced with a new 1 mile sustainable trail that provides for public safety and positive recreational experience.
Proposed vegetation management activities along the Buford/New Castle Road. Vegetation management activities could include improvement harvests, clearcuts, patch clearcuts, precommercial thinning and other silvicultural activities.
Reduce the risk to human health and safety of forest visitors and reclaim an abandoned mine site by closing mine features and demolition/removal of buildings/structures.
Removal of larger lodgepole pine to follow direction for sustained yield even flow timber harvest, and to reduce mountain pine beetle risk and fuels in the area.
The project would utilize untreated wood posts and on-site materials to build multiple beaver dam analogs (BDAs). These temporary structures would be constructed by hand and would mimic the influence of beaver dams on the stream and riparian area.
The Rifle Ranger District proposes replacing the existing culvert at the Coulter Mesa Road (FS 832)/Butler Creek stream crossing with an aquatic organism passage (AOP) design in the later summer/fall of 2018.
Proposal on NFS lands includes: Nordic jump venue, snowmaking on 9 trails, horseback trail rides, a lift maintenance facility. Grading Uncle Chuck's trail and constructing a Terrain Park Overpass was approved under a separate categorical exclusion.
CDOT is proposing to permanently store natural road debris inside the bottom switchback east of McClure Pass on Hwy 133. Project will fill in a 16.1-acre depression from original road construction. Includes revegetation of the old Placita fill site.
CDOT proposes to install three subsurface inclinometers and monitoring wells all within a 0.75-acre footprint located adjacent to U.S. Highway 24 north of Minturn. Monitoring equipment will be by foot one to two times per month for up to one year.
Re-issuance of a long term special use permit for construction, operation, and maintenance of 14 sediment control ponds and associated arrays of horizontal drains south of the I-70 right-of-way, within the Straight Creek Watershed, Summit County, CO.
Authorize issuance of a special use permit to CPX Piceance Holdings, LLC for the operation and maintenance of an existing natural gas pipeline crossing forest service lands.
The purpose of action is to improve aquatic, riparian, and wetland conditions in and along the Eagle River, maintain or improve recreation opportunities and facilities, and conserve historic values in the Camp Hale area.
Proposal to analyze cattle grazing for a total of 913 AUMs between July and October between Capitol Creek and East Sopris Allotments. If authorized, grazing would be managed in a manner that maintains or moves towards desired conditions.
Redevelop the Aspen-Sopris Ranger District Office located at 620 Main Street in Carbondale, Colorado. Includes the demolition of 3 buildings, landscaping and construction of new 7,222 sqft office building.
This proposed project is to reconstruct a 30' wooden bridge for foot and horse use located approximately 15' downstream from the existing similar bridge, then remove the existing bridge from within the Flat Tops Wilderness boundary.
This proposed project is to safeguard one (1) mine feature and demolish and remove three (4) unauthorized structures and one (1) former FS Administrative site situated on National Forest System lands managed by the Aspen-Sopris Ranger District.
Construct a sustainable mountain ascent route, restore multiple user created paths and perform basic maintenance on the main summit ascent route to Castle Peak.
The purpose of this proposal is to replace the condemned outhouse and vault at the Cayton Ranger Station site off of FSR 814 in the West Divide Creek area of the Rifle Ranger District.
The proposed activities consist of reshaping the bankfull channel of the Blue River by relocating alluvial material from within channel riffles to areas that will support the creation of holding pools.
Preliminary analysis to identify and quantify methane gas emission source locations within 5.2 square mile of Coal Basin to determine potential methane gas quality for future methane destruction or utilization projects.
CPW is planning to abandon a portion of an irrigation ditch and put the water into a 3070' pipeline. The pipeline will be under an existing road. The water will be used to irrigate a pasture for enhancing deer and elk habitat.

To offer for competitive sale an administrative site (Minturn Equipment Yard) comprising approx. 4.39 acres, under the Forest Service Facilities Realignment & Enhancement Act of 2005 (P.L. 109-54).
Analyzing a proposed plan of operations to harvest mineral materials from a rock scree area. Authorization would be through a special use permit. Surface rock would be manually gathered and palletized for 1-2 months during the summer each year.
Project includes the replacement of the Kokomo Lift, conveyor installations across the mountain, spot grading, construction of a viewing deck in the terrain park, etc.
An analysis of a new mountain coaster at the base of the American Flyer; a new mountain bike trail; snowmaking on Collage and an associated drainage system.
Project includes replacing the American Eagle and American Flyer chairlifts at Copper Mountain Resort. Both lifts are located within CMR's existing special use permit and operational boundary.
Project includes construction of a new chairlift on Tucker Mountain and other associated improvements within Copper Mountain Resort. All of the proposed projects are located within CMR's existing special use permit and operational boundary.
Year-round recreation projects at Copper Mountain: (1) additional snowmaking coverage on West Encore and Collage trails; (2) construction of a year-round alpine coaster; (3) and a new mountain bike trail east of the American Eagle chairlift.
Copper Mountain Resort proposes replacing the Timberline Express Chairlift and upgrading associated lift infrastructure. The project also includes constructing a downhill mountain bike park trail system accessed from the Woodward Express lift.
Expand size of Corn Lot parking area along with potential bicycle and hiking trrailhead and trail improvements; analyze potential stream health improvement projects for Tenmile Creek
The Aspen-Sopris Ranger District is proposing approximately 1600 acres of vegetation treatments along FSR 300. Additional projects identified in the area include recreation management enhancements and prescribed fire.
The USFS and CPW are proposing a cutthroat restoration project on Crooked and Little Lime Creeks. Actions include construction of fish barrier(s), removing whirling disease infected trout, and reintroducing native trout.
Reconstruction of the degraded Crooked Creek stream channel; reconstruction of the Little Lime Creek stream channel and associated wetlands that were converted to open water ponds; and remove the non-system spur road.
This project is to address ongoing concerns regarding parking, traffic flow, and provide a large enough area for tractor trailers and unequipped vehicles to turn around prior to reaching Forest Service Road 315
Restore ponderosa pine forests to Fire Regime Condition Class I. Improve habitat for species dependent on ponderosa pine forests. Reintroduce surface fire to ponderosa pine ecosystems. Reduce pinon/juniper encroachment from sagebrush communities.
To construct a recreational trail from the River Run base area at Keystone Ski Area to the proposed Dercum’s Dash neighborhood. The trail would be 6 feet wide and 650 feet in length (251 feet of surface trail and 398 feet of boardwalk).
Several priority use O/G permit holders have requested additional use. The use is available as determined by the District O/G Capacity Analysis. Proposed uses include hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, rock climbing, & mountaineering.
Proposal is to reissue seven recreation event special use permits under terms not to exceed five years. These permits are for multiple events that have been previously authorized on the Dillon District and are in full compliance w/ previous permits.
Proposal to lease the 10.89-acre Dillon Work Center administrative site for the development of up to 177 affordable housing rental units under the authority of the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, Sec. 8623 (P.L. 115-334).
Vegetation management in lodgepole pine to create species and structural diversity, to create defensible space, reduce future fuel loadings and promote regeneration of future forest.
Reissuance of special use permit to Xcel Energy for the existing 230kV electric transmission line from Dillon Substation, to the Malta Substation. The permit was originally issued in 1978, reissued in 1983, and expired in 2008.
To issue a ditch bill easement to Big Beaver Ranch for operation and maintenance of Big Lick Reservoir and outlet ditch used for storage of irrigation and livestock water.
Plan of Operations Review for the Double Eaton Mine. Mineral material will be excavated by hand and processed on site using a trowel and sluice box. Access to the mine will be by non-motorized means. No structures. Operations would be up to 2 mon/yr.
Construction of the Minturn Segment of Eagle Valley Trail. The Proposed Action is a 10-foot wide asphalt-paved trail from the current Eagle Valley Trail terminus near Dowds Junction extending to Downtown Minturn.
The Eagle Valley Land Exchange is proposed as an assembled land exchange involving the Town of Avon, the CO State Land Board, Eagle Co., the Eagle Valley Land Trust & the USFS. Then non-federal party wants to exchange 1,280 acres for 943 FS acres.
Proposal to issue eight new priority permits is to provide a valid special use authorization to the permittees so that they may continue to operate and maintain their outfitting and guiding services on National Forest System lands.
The Eagle-Holy Cross Ranger District of the White River National Forest is proposing to reclassify twelve existing transitional priority special use permits for outfitting and guiding as ten-year priority special use permits by the winter of 2014.
Proposal to re-route portions of these trails are steeper than FS trail standards direct. The proposed action would lessen the trail grade and include more sustainable trail design
The Eagle-Holy Cross Ranger District, WRNF is seeking comments on the proposed construction of a non-motorized trail. The proposed action aims to
create a more sustainable trail system, enhance visitor opportunities, and
improve trail connectivy.
Mosquito control using a natural bacterial byproduct, "Bti" on areas east of Aspen near Wildwood School & Difficult CG. Less than 5 acres of wetland areas to be controlled on an as-needed basis. Treatment is by hand, after assessment is completed.
Replacement of a triple-culvert crossing just east of Camp Hale. The intent is to restore stream habitat affected by the road-stream crossing, increase flood capacity and resiliency, reconstruct the rd and upgrade to current Forest Service standard
Proposal to convey (sale or lease) all or a portion of the Upper Parcel at its El Jebel Administrative Site pursuant to the Facility Realignment and Enhancement Act of 2005 P.L.109-54; 16 U.S.C. 580d note, as amended by P.L.112-74, Title IV, Sec. 421
The Arapaho and Roosevelt, Medicine Bow-Routt, and White River National Forests are proposing to remove all dead and dying trees (i.e., hazard trees) along power lines crossing National Forest system lands in Northern Colorado.
Re-authorization of easement for operation and maintenance of a 50 foot long private road from the Deer Creek Road to the Erie Millsite, 2 miles south of the Town of Montezuma.
Special use authorization for use, occupancy, construction and maintenance of a private driveway to access private property on the Erie West Mill Site (MS# 267) in the Deer Creek drainage south of the town of Montezuma, CO.
Construction of an approximate 1.6-mile non-motorized trail to extend the existing Eagle-Vail Trail # 2351, with 0.27 miles on National Forest Land. Additionally, 0.25 miles of social trail will be decommissioned and permit #HOL937 will be amended.
The Forest Service is considering reissuing eight expiring outfitter/guide priority permits, extending one probationary two year priority use permit, and renewing one priority use permit.
Andlinger Properties Capital Corp. of Vero Beach, FL has requested a special use permit authorizing use of National Forest System Lands for two existing historic ditches in the Capital Creek area of the White River National Forest, the Finley #1 & #4
Construct 650 feet of new road and obliterate/rehabilitate section of FSR 250 damaged by ditch overflow in spring 2014. Install a culvert where Coal Creek Feeder ditch crosses east end of re-route.
Amendment to design criteria contained in the Forest-wide Hazardous Tree Removal and Fuels Reduction Project EA. Specifically, revising the amount of time a level 3 road could be closed for treatment.
Remove hazard trees within 150' of roads and trails and 200' of recreation sites on the White River National Forest over the next ten years. Lodgepole pine affected by the mountain pine beetle will be targeted for removal.
Proposal to extend the paved recreation path south from Copper Mountain approximately three miles south towards Fremont Pass parallel to State Highway 91. The path would be maintained and operated by Summit County under a special use permit.
Rebuild existing spring development for improved water quality for livestock and wildlife, reduction of riparian/ wetland area trampling, and overflow mitigation.
Construction of 1.3 miles of Nordic skiing trails, 4.6 miles of summer multi-use trails, and 2.1 miles of improvements to existing trails on National Forest System (NFS) lands within the Frisco Nordic Center Special Use Permit boundary.
Town of Frisco is proposing to realign a steep portion of the access road to their water tank that is under an authorization in order to perform a tank restoration project.
Realign and construct approximately 2 miles of new trail in a more sustainable location. Approximately 1 mile of the existing trail tread would be decommissioned and closed.
The Forest Service was a cooperating agency, assisting the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in that Agency's geothermal leasing analysis and decision. The BLM issued a record of decision on 12/17/2008.
The project would construct a 45'x44'x21' structure at the Hanging Lake Rest Area in Glenwood Canyon to provide shelter to visitors at the popular recreation area.
Proposal from Summit County to construct approximately 5.40 miles of multi-use non-motorized trails on National Forest System Lands within the Golden Horseshoe Special Use Permit (SUP) boundary.
The proposal focuses on improving racing/training terrain on Golden Peak at Vail, which is based on concepts included in the 2007 Master Development Plan (MDP) Update and which was site-specifically analyzed in the 2009 Final EIS.
An order that restricts human occupancy on and surrounding Government trail #1980 and connecting trails between Snowmass Ski Area and Buttermilk Ski Area from May 15 to June 27, and a smaller area adjacent to Snowmass Ski Area from May 15 to June 20.
Proposal to implement safety closures and demolition on abandoned mine lands in the greater Aspen area of Pitkin County. Areas include Conundrum Creek, Lincoln Creek, Linkins Lake, Petroleum/Anderson Lakes, Smuggler Mtn, Snowmass Mtn, and Mt. Yeckel
Proposal to implement the demolition and removal of eight (8) unauthorized structures, a former mining road (3,000 lineal feet) and access bridge on former unpatented mining claims on Aspen-Sopris Ranger District.
Proposed actions at Cow Creek South, Cow Creek North, McDonald Flats, and Prairie Point include highway safety improvements, construction of marina facilities, a dump station, 40 campsites and host sites.
To minimize shoreline erosion, the project would include grading of the slope (2:1), compaction of the soil, placement of geomembrane and rock rip rap at the toe of the slope. Revegetation and reseed the disturbed area.

Eagle/Holy Cross RD is proposing to implement approx. 1682 acres of vegetation management activities in the Hardscrabble area. Potential treatments include clearcuts, pre-commercial thinning, patch clearcuts, salvage and overstory removal.
The proposed project would realign and construct approximately 2500 feet of new trail. Approximately 1000 feet of the existing trail would be decommissioned and restored to a natural state using best management practices.
The proposed action is to install a gravity fed water pipeline from the range improvement pond to the Hoot Owl Cow Camp corral for approximately 2,000 feet. The pipe will be a High Density Polyethylene commonly used for this purpose.

Construct a minor realignment of approximately 100 feet of FSR 747 Wearyman Road. The project would involve moving the road prism upslope just south of a large rock which is currently confining the road next to the streambed.
The building and towers currently located at the site are beyond their useful life and are in a state of disrepair, and will be replaced. The Existing six - 40 ft towers will be replaced with two 40 ft towers, and additional solar panels.

Remove up to 1,400 acres of pinon-juniper, burn up to 1,650 acres of sagebrush, and mow up to 770 acres of sagebrush to benefit greater sage-grouse, mule deer, Brewer’s and sage sparrow and reduce fuels. Seed and replant the area.
To offer for competitive sale to the public or direct sale to local gov an 18.3 acre admin site and associated improvements located in Minturn, CO, under the authority of the FS Facilities Realignment and Enhancement Act of 2005 (P.L. 109-54).
Sapphire Point is a heavily used recreation area and trail. The project would enhance accessibility to the two overlooks and along the trail, propose human use rules, design the parking resource, and construct a second vault toilet.
Construct 1.5 miles of new trail and decommission 1.01 miles of existing trail. The new trail construction will establish public access (due to new development precluding public access) and create a more sustainable grade that avoids riparian areas.
The Recreation Residence has been impacted by water and sediment from erosion. To mitigate this problem, a berm would be built to divert water away from the cabin.
Schofield Pass AML - Construction of approximately 20-25 barriers on open mine adits/shafts in the upper basins of the Schofield Pass area in Gunnison County. Additional restoration work includes road decommissioning, and trail maintenance.
Sunlight Mountain Resort is proposing to replace the existing Segundo double chairlift, with a triple chairlift due to the aged nature of the current installation. The replacement lift will have a capacity of 1400 people per hour.
Authorize issuance of a special use permit to Seven Lakes Lodge for the operation and maintenance of irrigation ditches, spring developments, water pipelines, road and a lake. These facilities have been in use for at least 40 years.

Proposal to build permanent sheep shipping corrals easily accessible by semi in the Shrine Pass area in order to spatially separate fall gathering and shipping operations from fall recreation demands at the very busy Shrine Pass Trailhead.
The USFS, Chihuahua LLC, & the Town of Breckenridge are considering an exchange in the Snake River and Upper Blue basins of Summit Cty involving 3 NF parcels (74 acres). In exchange, the public would receive the 43-acre Chihuahua Town Site.
The Snake River Water District proposed to install and construct a new water tank on NFS lands in the Keystone area to supply the municipality with more water infrastructure. The project will involve issuance of a new special use permit.
Analyzing a proposal submitted by the Aspen Skiing Company to construct three new mountain bike trails at the Snowmass Ski Area which are intended to enhance summer lift-assisted biking opportunities.
Proposal at Snowmass Ski Area includes: 16 miles of mountain biking and hiking trails, a mountain coaster, a canopy tour, a zip line, a ropes challenge course, a climbing wall, and three multi-purpose activity areas.
This enhances the lift-assisted biking opportunities at Snowmass by improving the sustainability of two existing trails. It also creates a new beginner mountain bike trail and skills development areas within the Elk Camp Pod of the mountain.
Proposal from Aspen Skiing Company for the 2017 summer construction season to construct a Ski Patrol Facility at the top of Sam's Knob, expand the footprint of the Sam's Smokehouse Restaurant, and install two underground fiber-optics utility lines.

White Owl Dam is a low hazard earthen dam that has been in a state of disrepair since at least 1999, with conditions worsening over time due to lack of funding for dam repairs. White Owl Dam will be decommissioned.
The WRNF is proposing to conduct vegetation management activities (mechanical and prescribed fire) within forest stands that contain aspen. Management would improve the resiliency of aspen forests to disturbance agents and improve wildlife habitat.
White River National Forest proposes to perform density reduction treatments in over-crowded regenerating stands of trees. Treatments would reduce the number of trees per acre to improve overall stand health.
