Sagebrush Enhancement
The Forest Service is proposing approximately 12,000 acres of sagebrush treatments to benefit habitat for greater sage-grouse, mule deer, Brewer's and sage sparrow. Treatments include mowing, prescribed fire, seeding, planting, and removing select juniper, pinyon pine, or Douglas-fir trees manually or mechanically in 7 distinct areas over the next 5-7 years. Comments are requested by March 16, 2012. See letter and map below for more details.
