Hubbard Cave entry gate

The White River National Forest is proposing to protect the cave and bat colony that uses the cave from White Nose Syndrome and human disturbances by installing a combination of bat-friendly grates and gates at the three entrances of Hubbard (Hubbard?s) Cave. Gates allow human entry for research, recreation, and resource management. This project could improve ecological conditions to sustain viable cave bat populations while protecting a unique recreational resource.
