Lily Pond / Picket Pin #1811

The Lily Pond / Picket Pin Trail is 8.3 miles long. The trail connects Rio Blanco County Road 8 with the Trappers Lake Road (Forest Road 205) by way of the Chinese Wall Trail and Picket Pin Park. The Lily Pond Trail climbs 4.5 miles through stands of aspen, open parks and scattered patches of spruce, fir and dead spruce. The Picket Pin end of the trail leaves from Forest Road 205, where it follows Picket Pin Creek for 2 miles before angling to meet the east end of Picket Pin Park.

The Lily Pond Trailhead is located 40 miles east of Meeker, CO.

From Meeker, CO take Colorado Highway 13 east for 1 mile, then turn right on Rio Blanco County Road 8 and follow this for 39.5 miles to the trailhead just past the turnoff to Trappers Lake Road and Ripple Creek Lodge.

For the Picket Pin Trailhead turn south onto Trappers Lake Road (Forest Road 205) and continue for 3.2 miles. The trailhead is on the north side of the road.
