The Pinyon Plain Mine (formerly Canyon Uranium Mine), is a uranium mine located about 6 miles southeast of the town of Tusayan on the Tusayan Ranger District of the Kaibab National Forest and operated by Energy Fuels Resources.
Drake Cement Proposed Pozzolan Exploration - CANCELLED
Drake Cement LLC submitted a proposal to explore for pozzolan (a cement additive) south of the City of Williams at the eastern base of Bill Williams Mountain. It was not a proposal to mine. It was a proposal to collect samples to determine the quality of pozzolan in the area. In September 2024, Drake suspended this proposal and the Forest Service cancelled the associated NEPA action.
