East Verde Picnic

Set in the shade of tall pine trees, East Verde Picnic is perfect for any day trip that you have planned. You can see a variety of wildlife along with the beautiful scenery that Payson has to offer.

Restrooms will be serviced once a week. Please pack it in, pack it out!

Day-use only

  • Day Use Only. No overnight camping.
  • Only trailers under 16'
  • Limited parking

Day Use: $8/vehicle/day.
If required: Tonto Watercraft Sticker: $4/motorized watercraft.


Tonto Fee Machine Pass: $12 (Nearest Machine available on Houston Mesa Rd.)


Tonto Forest Passes are Honored: $80/annual; $60/senior/access annual.

Directions

This site is 4 miles north of Payson. Take Hwy 87 for 4 miles north of Payson to the East Verde River. Turn left (west) on East Verde Park Estates Road/Forest Road 622 and drive 1/4 a mile to the picnic site.
