Riverside Park Campground

Riverside Park Campground is nestled along the banks of the South Fork of the Snake River, about 49 miles east of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Situated within the Caribou-Targhee National Forest near Palisades Reservoir, this campground rests at an elevation of 5,600 feet, accessible via U.S. Highway 26 east of Swan Valley.

Natural Features: Cottonwoods stretch along the riverbanks, their leaves rustling in the breeze and casting partial shade over the campground. The South Fork of the Snake River flows swiftly nearby, its waters alive with rainbow and brook trout, while wildlife—deer, moose, and bald eagles—frequently roam or soar through the area.

The river beckons with world-class fly-fishing, tubing, canoeing, kayaking, and rafting, while Palisades Reservoir, just minutes away, offers boating, waterskiing, and more angling opportunities. Hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, horse, and ATV trails crisscross the surrounding forest, inviting exploration of this rugged riverside retreat.

Facilities: The campground offers 22 single-family sites and 10 double-family sites, each equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings. Vault toilets, drinking water, and garbage service are available, with electricity at select sites. A campground host is on-site. Roads and parking spurs are gravel, welcoming campers to this scenic haven.

Season: Late May-Early September, first-come/first-served; Fee: $24 for a single site

After Season: Open, first-come/first-served; no fee, no toilets, no water.
