Cardiff Fork/ Mill D Trailhead
Cardiff Fork and Mill D Trailheads are located about 8.8 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon.
Cardiff Fork is located on the south side of SR190 while Mill D North trailhead is on the north side
of SR190. Mill D North provides access to Dog and Desolation Lake as well as Mill D Basin.
Cardiff Fork provides access to the popular Donut Falls Trail via a board walk through the Cardiff
Meadows riparian area along Big Cottonwood Creek. This area is an excellent location to observe
a wetland ecosystem, moose, beaver, fish, willow, and wildflowers.
In winter, this trailhead is a popular area for backcountry ski access and sledding near Cardiff
Meadow.
General Information
Big Cottonwood Canyon is a protected watershed.
No dogs or domestic animals
No swimming, wading, playing in water (protected watershed)
No motorized use on trails

Directions
From I-215, take the 6200 South exit and travel a mile east to Wasatch Blvd. Take Wasatch Blvd a mile south to junction with Big Cottonwood Canyon/Highway 190. Make a left at the junction and travel up Big Cottonwood Canyon 8.9 miles to the trailhead.
