Angeles National Forest Seed and Cutting Collection
The Angeles National Forest has made a decision to collect native seed and cuttings by hand for replanting on the forest, and to allow commercial collection permits. Collection will be performed by Forest Service employees, partner groups and agencies, or businesses and individuals holding permits. The purpose is to restore disturbed vegetation and wildlife habitat conditions in disturbed locations across the forest. Collection of seed and cuttings will follow a set of prescriptions designed to avoid over harvesting or otherwise impacting plant communitites and habitat. Wilderness, Recommended Wilderness, and the San Dimas Experimental Forest will be excluded from the project. For those interested in commercial collection permits, please contact our District Offices.
