Bouquet Canyon Restoration Project

The Angeles National Forest is analyzing public comment on a proposal to remove sediment, fix culverts, stabilize streambank, improve vegetation, develop a backwater preserve, and convert Zuni Campground to an education site. The purpose is to restore riparian habitat and flow capacity to Boquet Creek. Click on the project name to read a public letter with more information. The project may use heavy equipment in the creek, require consultation with US Fish and Wildlife Service, and permits from Army Corps and the LA Regional Water Board. The official comment period has closed. The Forest Service expects to make a decision on the project in July 2015.
