INN FIRE AREA CLOSURE

Pursuant to 16 U.S.C § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a), and to provide for public safety, the following acts are prohibited within the Inyo National Forest. This Order is effective from May 27, 2025, at 6:00 pm through December 31, 2025.

1. Being on the following National Forest System lands, as shown on Exhibit A:

a) West of U.S. Highway 395 at the intersection with Cemetery Road north to the south southwest corner of Section 19, T2N, R26E.

b) South of the Forest Service boundary from the junction of the Forest Service boundary and U.S. Highway 395, to the junction of the Forest Service boundary and private property on the southwest southeast side of Section 24, T2N, R25E.

c) West 250 yards from the northwest quarter, southwest southeast side, Section 24, T2N, R25E to the southwest quarter, southwest southeast, Section 24, T2N, R25E at the ridge above the unnamed tributary to DeChambeau Creek.

d) South along the slope above the unnamed tributary to DeChambeau Creek between of the southwest quarter, southwest southeast, Section 24, T2N, R25E and northwest southeast, Section 26, T2N, R25E below the slope break.

e) East of the slope break below the plateau between the northwest southeast, Section 26, T2N, R25E and the northwest quarter, southeast southeast, Section 26, T2N, R25.

f) North of the ridge between northwest quarter, southeast southeast, Section 26, T2N, R25 and the junction of the Forest Service boundary and private property at southwest quarter, L6, Section 30 T2N, R26E.

g) West of the Forest Service boundary from the junction of private property at southwest quarter, L6, Section 30 T2N, R26E to U.S. Highway 395 at the north edge of L6, Section 30 T2N, R26E.

h) South of L4, Section 30, T2N, R26E.

i) West of L4, Section 30, T2N, R26E.

j) South of L3, Section 30, T2N, R26E.

k) West of L2, Section 30, T2N, R26E.

l) North of L2, Section 30, T2N, R26E.
 
Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:

1. Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this Order.
This prohibition is in addition to the general prohibitions contained in 36 C.F.R. Part 261, Subpart A. A violation of this prohibition is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both. 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 18 U.S.C. §§ 3559, 3571, and 3581.
