Big Pony (Fuels Reduction and Vegetation Management) Project
To reduce the potential fire impacts to permanent research plots and within and adjacent to WUI. To reduce forest susceptibility to stand replacing wildfire, while increasing stand resiliency to insect and disease. The record of decison for this project was signed on May 9, 2011. Publication of the FEIS in the Federal Register and the ROD in the Siskiyou Daily News is anticipated on May 27, 2011, beginning the 45-day appeal period.
