Cedar Creek Upper Trailhead

Located adjacent to our ski area, this trail offers both hikers, mountain bikers and equestrian units a downhill run of some 3 plus miles that ends at the Cedar Creek Lower Trailhead.  Easy access and close to Alturas and Cedarville. Before you head out to the trail, consider checking out this guide to the interpretive sites.

Current Conditions
This is a Nordic Trail during the winter months, snow travel only. There is no maintenance to this trail in the winter. Trails are accessible by snowshoes or skis. Maintenance on the roads is not guaranteed. Please use caution and stay safe.

Day Use - Sunrise to Sunset

When parking for extended periods at trailheads always secure all food, packaging and ice chests in the trunk of your vehicle.  Do not park in front of gates or partially obstruct a fire road.

Directions

From Alturas go north 5 miles on US Hwy 395 to Hwy 299. Turn east on Hwy 299 toward Cedarville and go approximately 13 miles to the sign for the ski area. Turn south and the ski area is visible from the road. The trailhead is just east of the ski hill.
