General Information
This long trail climbs from the stub of the Steinacher Creek Road at the Salmon River, thousands of feet up to Tom Payne and Portuguese Peaks, then crosses into the Salmon/Scott Ranger District where it joins the trail network in the English Peak region. It is a ridgetop trail the entire way, and there are no water sources along the entire route. A fire crew maintained the lower part of the trail, about two miles. Beyond that point the trail is completely blocked by brush.
