General Information

Beautiful mountain lakes and outrageous vistas with low visitor use! Experience this 30.7-mile out-and-back trail near Orleans, California. This trail is great for backpacking, camping, and hiking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. This National Scenic Trail accesses Red Cap Lake and the Salmon Mountain area. Using the Devils Backbone trail, this system of trails connects the Salmon Mountain and Trinity Alps Wilderness recreation areas.
