Three-Forests Interpretive Association
Three-Forests Interpretive Association (3-FIA) is a non-profit educational organization that helps visitors and users appreciate and understand the mission of the Sequoia, Sierra and Stanislaus National Forests in California’s towering Sierra Nevada. Founded in 1972, 3-FIA seeks to enhance public understanding of the history, natural resources, recreational and commercial uses of the Forests.
3-FIA publishes and distributes books, brochures, maps and other materials relating to the human and natural history of the Sierra Nevada. Every year, profits from these activities help the Forest Service fund a wide range on interpretive and educational programs, thereby contributing to the public’s appropriate use, understanding and enjoyment of the Forest resources.
Members of 3-FIA believe that an informed public can aid the conservation mission of the Forest Service. Those who understand this mission will help further those mandates so future generations can enjoy and use this priceless heritage.
Membership is an important way for the public to show interest and have a role in the future of these three National Forests. Membership is open to anyone.
