Boulder Flat Campground

Boulder Flat Campground sits in a mixed conifer forest along the banks of the Stanislaus River, 20 miles east of the Summit Ranger Station on Highway 108. 

  • Enjoy the 20 camping sites; one is double site and two are walk-in.
  • Main road is paved with dirt-surfaced parking pads.
  • Restrooms are vault toilets. But no potable water. Be sure to bring your own water.
  • No designated trail down to the river.
  • Fee for extra vehicle parking.

Check in: 2:00 p.m.; Check-out: 12:00 p.m.; Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.

Want use a stove, grill or have a campfire? We recommend, but do not require, you get a campfire permit.  

  • This FREE Permit can be obtained at preventwildfiresca.org or at any ranger station.
  • Do not burn plastic or metal.
  • Please leave the area in as good (or better) condition than you found it.

Honor Interagency Senior and Interagency Access Passes and provide a 50% discount on camping fees in the campground. Pass number must be written on fee envelope or shown to host. 

Passes not accepted for double sites.

Camp in designated sites only and up to six per single campsite. 

Maximum length of stay in any campground is 14 days. 

Please leave the area in as good (or better) condition than you found it. Help ensure your favorite area remains open.

Overnight Use:
Single Site: $25 per night
Group Site: $50 per night
Extra vehicle: $10

Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort operates Dardanelle Campground under a special use permit from the Forest Service. The fees paid by concessionaires finance the refurbishment of facilities in the campgrounds they operate.
