Pinecrest Campground

Pinecrest features a large campground by Pinecrest Lake, just 30 miles east of Sonora, at an elevation of 5600 feet. The area includes a day-use beach and a marina, a small shopping center and recreation cabins. The campground caters to all ages and is within walking distance of the lake, an amphitheater, visitor center, swimming beach and hiking trails. 

The campground is situated in the Pinecrest Basin adjacent to the day use area at Pinecrest Lake. It has 200 campsites, each of which has a metal fire ring and a picnic table. Roads and parking areas, which vary in length, are paved. All restrooms have flush toilets and sinks.  All restrooms, except for 3 in “D” loop, have electricity for light and electrical appliances.

Reservations can be made up to 6 months in advance online at recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777. 

Note: It is essential that you have a reservation if you intend to camp in Pinecrest between Memorial Day and Labor Day. This campground fills up fast in the summer months!

$10 for Pinecrest Dump Station off of Highway 108

  • Maximum Length RV/Trailer: 40ft
  • The number of people allowed in a single campsite is 6
  • The maximum length of stay in any campground is 14 days
  • Please leave the area in as good (or better) condition than you found it. Help ensure your favorite area remains open

 

Overnight use:50% discount for single site camping with any of these passes: Interagency Senior, Interagency Access, Golden Age, or Golden Access. Applies to fee for site occupied by the pass holder. *Pass number must be written on fee envelope or Pass must be shown to Host. 

Campfire permit: If you wish to use a stove, grill, or have a campfire it is recommended, but not required, that you get a campfire permit. This FREE Permit can be obtained at preventwildfiresca.org or at any ranger station. 

Overnight Use:
Single Site: $40 per night

Dodge Ridge Corporation operates this campground under a special-use permit administered by the Forest Service. The fees collected from overnight campers go back into upgrading campground facilities and amenities.

Pets are welcome, but must be compliant with Tuolumne County leash laws.
