Electric Fire Closure Order
Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest’ Mt. Baker ranger district announced the closure of the following roads in response to the Electric Fire.
- National Forest System Road (NFSR) #1060 in its entirety from the junction of Highway 20 to the junction of NFSR#1064
- NFSR# 1064
This Forest Service closure is being enacted for public and firefighter safety and will allow fire crews to focus on suppression efforts. The public is asked to adhere to this closure and observe all signage.

Forest Order
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 CFR § 261.50(b), to provide for public safety and employee safety, the following acts are prohibited within the Mt. Baker Ranger District of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest as described below and shown on Exhibit A. This order will be effective from September 2, 2026, through October 31, 2026, unless rescinded sooner. This order supersedes and replaces Order #06-05-26-18.
PROHIBITION:
1. Being on a National Forest System Road. [36 CFR § 261.54(e)]
CLOSURE AREA DESCRIPTION:
The entirety of Forest System Road (FSR) #1060 to include FSR #1064 after crossing over Bacon Creek, beginning at its intersection with Highway 20 in Township 36N, Range 11E, Section 21 and continuing through T36N, R11E, S PB52, 17, 8, PB42, 7, and PB40, T37N, R11E, S PB40, and T37N, R10E, S PB39, before ending at the road terminus in T36N, R11E, S PB40.
All locations are visibly mapped in Exhibit A.
EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
1. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire-fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
2. Persons with a Valid Forest Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order (Form FS-7700-48), specifically exempting them from this order.
This prohibition is in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.
Violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both (16 U.S.C. § 551; 18 U.S.C. §§ 3551, 3571, and 3581).
