Fire and Ice Trailhead

The Fire and Ice Trailhead provides access to Fire and Ice Trail 684.2 and shares a parking area with the Heather Meadows Visitor Center. A vault toilet is available at this location. Wild Goose Trail 684.3 is also accessible from this parking area. After turning right off the Baker Lake Highway and before reaching the Visitor Center and Fire and Ice Trail, you'll pass another parking area where the Wild Goose Trail 684.3 crosses the road.

Day Use:
$5 per vehicle per day
$30 per annual

Day use fee payment options: Scan & Pay on-site or display a valid Recreation Pass.  *Suggestion: Download the recreation.gov app before your trip to have the ability to scan & pay digitally on-site.

Directions

From Glacier Public Service Center travel 22.3 miles east on the Mt. Baker Highway State Route 542. Turn right at the Austin Pass Picnic Area sign located on the northwest side of the highway near milepost 55 and park at the bottom of the hill near the Heather Meadows Visitor Center. The trail can be found near the bathroom or on the southwest side of the parking lot by the stone wall.
