The Rogue River-Siskiyou has everything: downhill skiing at Mt. Ashland Ski Area, backcountry skiing, cross-country skiing, sledding and tubing, snowshoeing...you name it!
Skiing/Snowboarding
Mt. Ashland Ski Area is located in the Siskiyou Mountains above Ashland, part of the Siskiyou Mountains Ranger District. Typically open from December through mid-April (depending on snowfall and conditions), it's a unique ski experience with a lot of small-town flavor and community vibes!
Sledding/Tubing
Those seeking thrills on sleds and tubes have lots of places to look on High Cascades, Siskiyou Mountains, and Wild Rivers Ranger Districts, including (but not limited to):
- Farewell Bend Snow Play Area near Union Creek
- Page Mountain Sno-Park near Cave Junction
- Bull Gap Sno-Park near Mt. Ashland
- Fish Lake Sno-Park near Fish Lake

Snowmobiling
High Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains Ranger Districts have snowmobile trails that pass through incredible trees and provide the iconic Oregon winter experience for those who are looking for it! Check out:
- Deadwood Nordic Trails east of Ashland
- Fish Lake Sno Park east of Medford

XC Skiing/Snowshoeing
High Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains Ranger Districts have miles and miles of XC skiing and snowshoeing trails. Some are groomed, some are not, so choose your own adventure. Pro tip: You can often see generally what conditions look like by looking at the Oregon Department of Transportation's Tripcheck web cameras near those places!

- Grouse Gap Trail near Ashland (which is on the Klamath National Forest, but your adventure starts by parking near Mt. Ashland's lodge)
- Deadwood Nordic Trails east of Ashland
- Bull Gap Nordic Ski Trails near Mt. Ashland
- Nordic Trails near Fish Lake, including Lollipop Loop Trail and Fish Lake Tie Trail
