Umpqua National Forest Announces New Campground Concessionaire and Upcoming Reservation Opening
Reservations will open at 7:00 am on March 1, 2025.
Roseburg, OR – February 27 – Umpqua National Forest is pleased to announce the selection of WESTrek Services (WESTrek) as the new concessionaire responsible for managing select campgrounds on the Forest. This new, five-year permit will ensure high-quality recreation experiences across the North Umpqua, Cottage Grove, and Diamond Lake Ranger Districts.
Concessionaires like WESTrek operate and maintain developed recreation facilities on behalf of the U.S. Forest Service to help provide recreation experiences to the public, mainain and improve Forest facilities, and meet public expectations for a high level of service. Concessionaire services include maintaining water systems, cleaning toilets, removing trash, managing reservations, removing hazard trees, improving facilities, and protecting natural resources.
As part of this transition, the following sites will now be operated by WESTrek:
- Apple Creek Campground
- Boulder Flat Campground
- Bunker Hill Campground
- Canton Creek Campground
- Coolwater Campground
- Cedar Creek Campground and Day Use Area
- Deer Flat Group Site
- Eagle Rock Campground
- East Lemolo Campground & Boat Ramp
- Horseshoe Bend Campground
- Hobo Campground
- Island Campground
- Inlet Campground
- Lund Park Campground
- Poole Creek Campground and Boat Ramp
- Poole Creek Group Site
- Rujada Campground and Day Use Area
- Steamboat Ball Field Group Site
- Toketee Lake Campground
- Toketee Group Site
- White Creek Campground
- Wolf Creek Campground
- Wolf Creek Group Site
Campground reservations will reopen on March 1, 2025, at 7:00 am, Pacific Standard Time on Recreation.gov. Visitors are encouraged to book early to secure their preferred dates and locations. Apple Creek, Cedar Creek, Coolwater, Hobo Camp, and Island Campgrounds which were previously first-come, first serve will be added to the reservation system later this season.
The Umpqua National Forest will continue to manage the following campgrounds on Recreation.gov:
- Broken Arrow Campground
- Diamond Lake Campground
- Kelsay Valley Horse Camp Campground
- Thielsen View Campground
Additionally, these first-come, first-serve campgrounds will continue to be managed by the forest:
- Ash Flat Campground
- Boulder Creek Campground
- Clearwater Falls Campground
- Dumont Creek Campground
- Hemlock Lake Campground
- Hemlock Meadows Campground
- Lake in the Woods Campground
- South Umpqua Falls Campground
- Steamboat Falls Campground
- Threehorn Campground
- Three C Rock Campground
- White Horse Falls Campground
At this time, there are currently no changes to dispersed camping across the Umpqua National Forest.
