Public Use Restrictions (PURs)

Public Use Restrictions (PURs) are measures put in place to reduce the risk of a wildfire igniting. Restrictions can affect where you are allowed to smoke and use a generator, the types of roads you can travel on, and where – or even if - you are allowed to have a campfire. At this time, the use of non-industrial battery or electric power equipment is exempt from these restrictions. Please remember that even fires in designated forest service constructed fire rings and fireplaces need to be dead out before leaving your campsite. Drown, stir, and feel your campfire with the back of your hand. It should feel cold to the touch.
