Umpqua National Forest

Nestled on the western slopes of the Cascade Mountains.

Welcome to Umpqua National Forest

The Umpqua National Forest protects 983,239 acres in Oregon across Douglas, Lane, and Jackson Counties. Four ranger districts comprise the forest: Cottage Grove, Diamond Lake, North Umpqua, and Tiller. The landscape of the Forest has been shaped by high Cascade glaciation, whitewater rapids, and explosive geologic events. From mountainous terrain to lush, dense forest, the area is known for its rich biodiversity, recreational opportunities, and stunning scenery. The Forest is also home to the Dorena Genetic Resource Center and Wolf Creek Job Corps
