Forest Order 09-19-17-24 Annual Tour de Forest
Every year on the weekend before Memorial Day weekend and the weekend before Columbus Day weekend, from Saturday at 12:01 am to 6:00 pm on Sunday certain roads and trails are closed to camping and/or driving for the Marienville Volunteer Fire Company's Tour de Forest.

Forest Order
Under the authority of the Act of Congress dated June 4, 1897, as amended (16 USC 551) and the Secretary of Agriculture's regulation 36 CPR 261.50 (a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited on the Allegheny National Forest, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania:
Annually on the weekend before Memorial Day weekend and annually on the weekend before Columbus Day Weekend from Saturday at 12:01 am to 6:00 pm on Sunday
- Camping is prohibited within 500 feet from the centerline on both sides of the following Forest Service Roads (FSR): [36 CPR 261.58 (e)]
- FSR # 127 from FSR # 145 to the intersection with FSR # 128 ( Abraxas Road),
- FSR # 226,
- FSR # 131 from the intersection with FSR # 327 (Lamonaville Road) to Duhring,
- FSR # 449 from FSR # 449C to the intersection with FSR # 116,
- FSR # 116 from FSR # 449 to State Route (SR) 666,
- FSR # 216,
- FSR # 221 from FSR # 128 to FSR # 221B, from FSR # 221B to State Route 1003 (Blue Jay Road),
- FSR # 449C,
- FSR # 159,
- FSR # 287,
- FSR # 180 and FSR# l80D,
- FSR # 145 from the TGT Pipeline to FSR # 127,
- FSR #128 from the end of the blacktop road at Abraxas to the intersection with FSR # 180.
- It is prohibited to operate or use any type of motor vehicle on the following Forest Service Roads (FSR): EXCEPT for those vehicles registered as participating in the Marienville Volunteer Fire Company's Tour de Forest [(36 CPR 261.13)]
- FSR # 127 from FSR # 145 to intersection with FSR # 128 ( Abraxas Road),
- FSR # 226,
- FSR # 131 from intersection with FSR # 327 (Lamonaville Road) to Duhring,
- FSR # 449 from FSR #449C to the intersection with FSR #116,
- FSR # 116 from FSR # 449 to State Route (SR) 666,
- FSR # 216,
- FSR # 221 from FSR # 128 to FSR # 221B from FSR # 221B to State Route (SR) 1003 (Blue Jay Road),

THIS RESTRICITION IS NECESSARY TO PROTECT PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY. THEY ARE IN ADDITION TO THE GENERAL PROHIBITIONS SET FORTH IN 36 CFR PART 26I. THE PROHIBITIONS ARE IN EFFECT ON THE DATES LISTED ABOVE.
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:
- Persons with a permit authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
- Any Federal, State, or local officer or member or a rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty.
- Persons engaged in a business, trade or occupation in the area.
Violation of any of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5000 or imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, or both, under authority of Title 16 USC 551, Title 18 USC 3559 and 3571.
Justification for Order
This order is essential to provide for public health and safety during the annual Tour De Forest ATV event on the Marienville Ranger District. The event is under special use permit and serves as a fundraiser for the Marienville Volunteer Fire Department. The order is designed to mitigate dual use of roadways with OHVs and street-legal motor vehicles.
Enforcement Plan
This order will be enforced by law enforcement and forest protection officers. The primary method of enforcement will be through regular patrols as well as officers stationed at certain locations on the event route. Enforcement may or may not include other law enforcement agencies.
