Sailor Lake Recreation Area
If you are looking for a base camp that is popular for campers and explorers alike or a destination campground with a rustic atmosphere, try the Sailor Lake Recreation Area off State Highway 70 east of Fifield.
The Sailor Lake Recreation Area on the Park Falls District consists of a campground with 25 sites that can accommodate RV's up to 45 feet. There is one double site and three walk in sites. One group site is available for larger groups and can be reserved through a campground reservation service. Campsites are equipped with a parking spur, fire grill, picnic table, and tent pad. Drinking water and vault toilets are provided.
Day use facilities include a 170-acre Sailor Lake, which is popular for boating, year-round fishing and access to the popular Flambeau ATV Trail. The Flambeau ATV Trail is multiple-use and open to ATVs, off-road motorcycles, horseback riding, hunting, mountain biking and hiking. Accessible vault toilet facilities, picnic tables and grills are located at the nearby Sailor Lake Picnic Day Use Site.

General Information
Campground Camping
The rustic Sailor Lake Recreation Area is next to the 168-acre Sailor Lake. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and a fire ring. Garbage and recycling dumpsters are available in the campground for campers only. While some sites have a view of the water, none of the sites are near the water. Three sites are tent walk-ins only. Many sites are spacious, and some are over 45’ long.

RV Camping
Most sites are back-in and not specifically designed for RVs. Hookups and dump stations are not available. Sites 19 and 21 are pull-through.

Group Camping
Site 12 is a group site that allows up to 16 people and six vehicles. This site can also be used as a pull-through.
24 Hours
Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 6 am.
Overnight Use:
Single Site: $15 per night
Double Site: $30 per night
Day Use:
$5 per vehicle
- $15 per night for a single site. $7.50 with the use of an Interagency Pass (access or senior).
- $30 a night for a double site. Interagency pass discounts do not apply to the double site.
- Day use is $5 per day for non-campers.

Directions
Sailor Lake Recreation Area is located approximately 11 miles southeast of Fifield. Follow State Highway 70 east from Fifield and turn right (south) on Forest Road 139 for 3 miles.

Fishing - Lake & Pond Info
Sailor Lake has good fishing opportunities. A shallow boat landing is located at the picnic area 1/2 mile from the campground on Forest Road 139. Some lakes have special fishing regulations, so please check the regulations for your fishing area.

OHV Trail RidingOHV Trail Riding Info
The Flambeau Motorized Trail System is accessible from the campground. ATVs and UTVs can only operate in the campground to access the trail from their campsite.
Picnicking - Single Info
The Sailor Lake Recreation Area has plenty of space to enjoy a picnic near the water. There is also a shelter to provide shade. The designated picnic area is located on Forest Road 139 near the boat landing.
Boating - Motorized Info
Motors are allowed on Sailor Lake, but the landing is shallow. The paved boat landing is at the picnic area 1/2 mile from the campground on Forest Road 139.
Boating - Non-Motorized Info
The shallow waters of Sailor Lake are great for canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. The paved boat landing is at the picnic area 1/2 mile from the campground on Forest Road 139.
