Seneca Rocks Picnic Area
This scenic picnic spot is a perfect location to view Seneca Rocks. Picnic sites are located in an open meadow adjacent to the North Fork of the South Branch River near the base of Seneca Rocks. “Catch and release” is the only type of fishing allowed in this area. Seneca Rocks Hiking Trail is located close by for those looking to get a short day hiking experience.
Seneca Rocks is one of the best-known landmarks in West Virginia. These rocks have long been noted as a scenic attraction and are popular with rock climbers. The Sites Homestead and the Seneca Rocks Discovery Center are located within walking distance.
While the picnic area is closed in winter, hiking and rock climbing are permitted year-round.
